Associate Dentist

( POSITION FILLED )

Major Responsibilities:

  • Reports directly to the Principal Dentist.
  • Deliver high-quality general dental care to a diverse patient base, utilising a “comprehensive, interactive, and informative” method to diagnose oral health issues and meet the specific dental needs of patients efficiently.
  • Leverage the practice’s digital imaging technology and digital workflows to create and execute precise treatment plans for dental procedures.
  • Act as the clinical lead for the assigned dental sub-team; providing a collaborative environment for the Senior Dental Assistants, while supervising Junior Dental Assistants to ensure they maintain high standards of clinical support and patient prep.
  • Serve as an educator for patients, translating complex dental information into accessible guidance to help them navigate their dental journey toward complete oral restoration, rehabilitation, and maintenance.
  • Oversee the clinical environment to ensure all staff adhere to strict infection control protocols and dental ethics as espoused by the Principal Dentist, ensuring every patient experience is safe, professional, and meets the clinic’s “proactive care” standards.
  • Maintain a goal-oriented mindset by collaborating with the Principal Doctor of Dental Surgery, Practice Manager, dental technicians, and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow, accurate data entry into practice management software, and overall clinic proficiency.
  • Commit to ongoing learning and advancement in line with the clinic’s philosophy; seeking specialised certifications, accreditations or skills to enhance the clinic’s service offerings. Maintaining good [financial] standing with the Dental Council of Trinidad & Tobago (DCTT)

Essential requirements:

  • A DDS degree or an equivalent degree from a recognised and accredited College or University
  • A Vocational Certificate where applicable.
  • An Annual Practising Certificate for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago
  • Registered and in good [financial] standing with the Dental Council of Trinidad & Tobago (DCTT)
  • Experience as a general practitioner for at least three (3) years.
  • Demonstrable, professional interest in Sports Dentistry would be an asset.
  • Professionally autonomous, yet accountable; possessing a goal-oriented mindset.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills, good work ethics and superb organisational skills
  • Must be able to understand the dental needs of patients and meet those needs efficiently.
  • Two (2) references and two (2) letters of recommendation (one from a dental university instructor or previous employer is required)

Dental Patient Care Coordinator

Major Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patient relations, ensuring every visitor experiences a personable and welcoming atmosphere. This includes managing the waiting area environment and proactively addressing patient needs to ensure high levels of satisfaction, while strictly adhering to patient confidentiality.

  • Optimising the clinic’s schedule by managing appointments, confirmations, reschedules and/or cancellations with high mental acuity. You must efficiently balance the daily patient flow to minimise wait times while collaborating with the dental practitioners to maximise the clinical team’s productivity; ensuring the clinic operates at capacity.

  • Oversee and execute the accurate collection and management of patient information, including the Dental Patient Intake Form (DPIF), International Dental Patient Intake Form (IDPIF) and Medical History Forms to optimise patient scheduling.

  • Act as a knowledgeable bridge between the clinical team and the patient by accurately conveying dental information, explaining basic office policies, triaging and answering non-diagnostic inquiries about services and/or procedures.

  • Handle all front-desk and patient-care transactions with precision, including the collection of payments, issuance of receipts, the processing of insurance claims, where applicable, billing records and patient membership status progress within the practice management software.

  • Maintain seamless operations by coordinating effectively with dentists, dental assistants, and the digital dental technician. You will ensure that patient records, digital files, and specialist referrals are organised and ready for the clinical staff.

  • Execute general office duties—such as managing mail, inventory of office supplies, and practice notices—while actively promoting the “Proactive Care” brand through professional telephone etiquette and high-quality customer service.

Essential requirements:

  • Mature, personable and people-centred with vocal warmth, articulation and composure.
  • Demonstrable work-experience as a dental receptionist, customer service representative or patient care coordinator.

Digital Dental Technician

Major Responsibilities:

    • Reporting to and receiving instructions from the dentists regarding design and fabrication of patients’ prostheses.
    • Executing end-to-end digital workflows using the clinic’s imaging technology to design crowns, bridges, veneers etc.
    • Operate and maintain 3D design technology systems to produce high-quality dental prostheses.
    • Accurately interpret digital scans, 2D radiographs, CBCT images, and doctor prescriptions to ensure functional fit and aesthetic excellence.
    • Collaborating with senior dental assistants where necessary to ensure greater streamlined procedures as directed by the dentist.
    • Manage digital file documentation and workflow tracking to ensure seamless workflow between the laboratory, the Principal Dentist, Associate Dentist and the rest of the clinical team.
    • Perform fine manual finishing, polishing and/or curing to ensure every restoration meets an aesthetic and functional standard.

Essential requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in a digital dental laboratory environment
  • A Certified Dental Technician (CDT) certificate or comparable degree that demonstrates both theoretical and practical competence.
  • Proficiency in the digital dentistry workflow.
  • Deep knowledge of dental anatomy, morphology, and the properties of modern dental materials.
  • Knowledge of traditional lab techniques and materials would be an asset.
  • Ability to process and manipulate 3D diagnostic data and digital imaging technology.
  • A team player, yet professionally autonomous and accountable.
  • Attention to detail with exceptional manual dexterity and a “passion for precision”

Junior Dental Assistants

( POSITIONS FILLED )

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide active assistance to the dentist during a variety of clinical procedures, utilising strong anticipatory skills to ensure the correct instruments and materials are ready before they are needed.

  • Assist senior team members to execute high-standard sterilisation protocols for all dental instruments and equipment. You are responsible for maintaining a sterile clinical environment in strict adherence to the clinic’s infection control mandates.

  • Support senior team members to efficiently prepare and “turn over” dental treatment rooms between patients, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised and the specific surgical or restorative setups are correctly staged for the next procedure.

  • Welcome and seat patients, ensuring they are comfortable and prepared for their treatment. This includes assisting with draping and providing basic information to put patients at ease.

  • Assist in the digital workflow by taking and processing dental 2D radiographs and/or CBCT images; supporting the collection of 3D diagnostic data under the supervision of senior clinical staff.

  • Support the maintenance of precise patient records by assisting with charting and at times, billing; ensuring that clinical data is accurately captured, entered and updated within the practice management software.

  • Monitor and maintain the stock levels of dental supplies within the operatories, proactively reporting low inventory to ensure that clinical operations are never interrupted by a lack of materials.

  • Assist by diligently performing both back-end and front-end duties to ensure the clinic operates at capacity.

Essential requirements:

  • Completion of an entry-level practicum certificate program in dental health-care OR a secondary school diploma with passing grades in five (5) or more modules including mathematics, english, chemistry, physics, biology, human & social biology, integrated science. Distinctions, not mandatory, but would be an asset.
  • No less than one (1) year of work-experience as a dental assistant with no certification
  • Excellent communication skills and anticipatory skills
  • Excellent, but practical organisational skills
  • High standard of work ethics inclusive of infection control practices
  • Teachable, enthusiastic and industrious with a fundamental understanding of dental terminology
  • A sharp candidate who prides themselves on their ability to memorise complex dental terms and never has to ask twice for the name of a tool.

Senior Dental Assistants

Major Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in the end-to-end digital dentistry workflow, including the operation of 3D imaging technology and the manipulation of digital files to support precise diagnostic and treatment outcomes.
  • Act as a primary enforcer of the clinic’s high-standard work ethics by ensuring strict adherence to all infection control protocols, sterilisation procedures, and hygiene mandates to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Provide expert chairside assistance to the Principal and/or Associate Dentist by utilising superior anticipatory skills; preparing all necessary materials and 2D/ 3D diagnostic data before they are required to streamline procedures and provide high-level support allowing the dentist to focus on patient care.
  • Serve as a clinical role model and mentor for Junior Dental Assistants, guiding them in the clinic’s specific procedural standards, processes and operations and “proactive care” philosophy.
  • Oversee the preparation of patients for treatment, ensuring they are comfortable and informed while managing clinical documentation, including updating dental histories and post-operative instructions.
  • Manage the coordination of laboratory work and the maintenance of clinical inventory, ensuring that all 3D technology components and traditional dental materials are stocked and ready for daily operations.
  • Apply a “teachable and innovative” mindset to clinical challenges, identifying opportunities to improve workflow efficiency within the practice management software and clinical treatment rooms.

Essential requirements:

  • A Degree in Biology, Dental Hygiene, Nursing or another health-care discipline with no less than three (3) years’ work-experience as a dental assistant
  • No less than seven (7) years’ work-experience with no degree or certification
  • Team player with excellent communication, anticipatory and organisational skills
  • Demonstrable proficiency in the use of 3D technology and imaging throughout the digital dentistry workflow including digital lab techniques to achieve aesthetic patient-treatment results
  • An understanding of traditional dental lab techniques and dental materials would be an asset
  • Teachable, enthusiastic and innovative with high standards of work ethic, inclusive of infection control protocols.
